Poor Anna. Even long-gone from tennis, she keeps getting slammed. When the golfer Natalie Gulbis recently won her first golf tournament, all the stories included some variation of, "At least Gulbis won't be compared to Anna Kournikova anymore."

It's true that Kournikova never lived up to the hype in tennis - at least in singles. But maybe she just wasn't good enough, you know? Maybe she just didn't have the talent on the tennis courts to become a winner in singles. She did win plenty of major doubles titles, however.

Serena Planning Movie on Althea Gibson

Serena Williams plans to make a movie about tennis legend Althea Gibson. Gibson's life story is remarkable and should make for a great feature film. There's no way that Serena could play her, however - Williams would have to lose about 50 pounds of muscle before she could pass for Gibson.

Thankfully, Serena appears to realize this herself, and says she will only develop the script and attach her name as producer.

I like Serena a lot, so: you go, girl.
